Snapchat is a very cool and chic messaging app. Over the years, it has gained a significant fan following and has developed a niche for itself, especially in youth. Like almost all other social media platforms, Snapchat too suffers from the one impediment that is ubiquitous to all other social media portals.

How to safeguard your information from going into unwanted hands. While that might sound a bit like espionage, our concern, the one which we are going to expound upon in this article isn’t that profound. It is much more impersonal to be more precise.
We have all been in a situation where we are confronted by unwanted members in a group chat. It could be a family what’s app group, a Facebook group, an Instagram group, etc.
At times, it’s our nagging aunt who keeps on pestering us about our whereabouts, and sometimes it’s our over-enthusiastic uncle who keeps on spamming our messages with unsolicited greetings (every day) and homemade remedies for almost everything under the sun!
While some portals do give you the leverage of filtering people in a group chat, I am afraid to tell you that all social media platforms don’t do that.
The best thing about Snapchat is that it keeps on updating and revamping itself. The app has so many cool features that it is almost impossible to ignore them. Some time ago, Snapchat had launched the group chat feature. At that time, the admin (though not quite literally) could add up to 16 people in the group. Now that limit has been revised to 32 people. So basically anybody can start a group chat and 32 people to it. The beauty of this feature is that there are no special privileges attributed to the admin/creator of the group. Any participant can go ahead and alter the contents, images, videos, messages, etc. in the group.
Now the big question arises, can we remove someone from a Snapchat group chat?
To be honest, for now, it is not possible to outright remove a person from a Snapchat group though some other measures can always be adopted.
Let us try to explore our options in the points below.
How to Remove Someone from Snapchat Group
1. Just Ask
Now, it might seem impolite but the best option is to directly ask the person to leave the group. You can ask the person politely and tell him that he/she had been added by mistake. If you are lucky, that person might just understand and leave the group after all. If not, then we suggest you continue reading the next options. Once the person in question decides to leave the group upon your (insistence) then all the snaps etc. they sent will also be deleted.
2. Ignore: It's Only Temporary
Like everything else on snap chat, even the group chats can be kept alive for 24 hours. It means that the group will automatically delete everything in it after 24 hours. Apart from that each snap can be viewed and replied to just once by the members. So, if this option works for you, you can simply bear with it for 24 hours.
3. Form a new group
Another thing that you can do, is starting another group chat but this time make sure that you do not add the person in question. The previous group can stay inactive and eventually everything will disappear after 25 hours.
4. Block!
Well, this might sound and look very rude but you can actually block the person. In this case, the person will be deleted from your friend list also but then, you can always add them back in the future if at all it’s an option.
If the user who wishes to leave the group, is sending vulgar or abusive messages then it’s best to block them. But if not, then continue reading to explore what more can be done.
5. Leave the Chat
If asking someone else to leave is not an option then you can always decide to leave the group chat. If someone’s presence in the group is really bugging you then we suggest that you should leave the group yourself to buy peace. After all, nothing is more important than your peace of mind right.
