Make a Poll on Discord: Discord has a lot of features, and one of them is the ability to invite bots to your server, such as the poll bot. Discord has a fantastic polling feature that allows us to solicit reviews or suggestions from users. However, you can’t invite bots to your Discord server from inside the Application itself.

To make a poll on Discord, you need to invite the simple poll bot to your server via top.gg and use /poll to make a poll. You can also create a Webhook and paste its URL into Discohook if you want to make a poll via your server. You must, however, have the “manage server” permission in order to invite bots to your server. You won’t be able to invite bots unless you have permission.
You’ll get permission automatically if you’re the server’s owner. If you’re a member of a server, on the other hand, you’ll need to ask the administrator for permission.
The advantage of this poll is that you can learn about inactive users in your channel via Poll, and you can build an AFK channel in Discord to switch these inactive users to AFK. You can use up to 5 emojis for reactions or the Discord Poll alternative and after having a survey you can end the poll by simply deleting the connection or, if you’re using Discord Bot, by issuing a command.
There are three ways to create polls on discord. You can create polls on discord via PC, Android phone, and also by visiting the site of the poll maker.
How to Make a Poll on Discord
1. Reaction Poll
Open your Discord Dashboard using your Windows App or by going to https://discord.com in your browser. Look for the server where you want to generate a Poll once the Discord dashboard is open. To get started, go to Discord’s left-hand panel and press the server button. Choose the Text Channel where you’d like to build a poll. In the server box, a text channel will appear, and the channel list will begin with the # tag.
If you’re new to Discord and don’t have a text channel yet, you can build one by going to Server > Text channel and clicking on the + symbol. Build a channel with any name, such as Poll. Manage Permissions by selecting the gear icon on the right of the channel for which you want to create a vote.
- After you’ve completed the setup, go to the Permission tab on the left-hand side.
- Select @everyone from the ROLE/MEMBER drop-down menu in the Permissions box.
- On the right-hand side, you will see all the permission options with X / √
- Scroll down to the Read Messages section and press the tick bar to give reading permission. You may also grant other types of permission, depending on your preferences.
- Now it’s your turn. To see all of the remaining options, click X. Close the box and go to the next step.
- Now, in Discord, build a Poll by typing your question first. For example, suppose I want to build a poll to ask, “Do you like my gameplay?” after that in the text box, type your question and press Enter.
Now, hovering your poll question and press the emoji with the + sign icon that appears on the right side of your poll question to add a reaction to this question. Depending on your server, you can use the emoji as a reaction. We’ll use thumbs up for yes and thumbs down for no for this poll. So go to Add Reactions and look for thumbs up to find the emoji, pick it, and press Enter. Return to add a reaction by searching for thumbs down, selecting it, and pressing Enter.
Now that you’ve successfully added a Poll to the channel, people in the channel can use the reaction you generated to share their thoughts on your polling. You may also incorporate poll guidelines and rules to help your users understand what they should do. We’ll type “Click:thumbs-up: for YES and :thumbs-down: for NO” for the poll question we generated above. By using a variety of techniques, you would be able to avoid trolling by using different emojis.
2. Discord Poll Bot
Poll Bot makes it easy to build reactions and straw polls. To use Poll Bot Discord, go to https://botlist.co/bots/poll-bot and sign up for an account. After the website has loaded, select GET and then Discord from the drop-down menu. Now, if it asks you to log in to Discord, use your Discord ID and password to do so. You can skip this stage if it does not ask you to log in.
To allow Poll Bot to be added to the server, click Authorize. Bring up the server where you built the Poll Bot in the Discord dashboard. Pull up the channel in which you want to build a poll from the server. All you have to do now is give Bot commands to handle everything. Poll Bot now allows you to create three different types of polls.
We’ll use the same example for the poll question we used earlier, which is “Do you like my Game Play?” If you respond with a thumbs up, thumbs down, or shrugging reaction emoji, Poll Bot will respond with a thumbs up, thumbs down, or shrugging reaction emoji. Users can now vote by clicking the reaction emojis.
Type poll: [option 1] [option 2] [option 3] for each choice, Poll Bot will answer with letter emoji’s for each option such as A,B,C ETC. Wait for the survey to finish and then review it again in a day to see how the users responded.
3. Poll Maker
Poll Maker is an online platform that allows you to create a poll. To use this tool, go to the website and type your question and answers. This will generate a poll connection that you can post on the Discord channel, where users can visit and vote.
To access the Poll Maker website, go to https://www.poll-maker.com/. You must type your question where it says type your question here once the website is up and running. So, we’ll ask the same question: “Do you like my gameplay?” Now we must type the audience’s choice for the answer to this question. As a result, our responses to the question “Do you like my gameplay?” would be YES or NO. So, in the first box, write YES, and in the second box, write NO.
When you’re finished with your survey question and answer, go to the green tab at the right-hand bottom of the box and press Create Free Poll. Poll Maker will generate two URLs after you click Create Poll. The first URL will be used to vote, while the second will be used to view the results.
Copy and paste the Vote URL into the Discord channel where you want to build a ballot. When you press enter, the Poll connection will be shared in the channel. You can leave a note for the user that says something like, “Please click the link and vote.” Users can now click on the connection to begin voting. Allow users to vote on your poll for a period of time before checking the results by typing another URL into the browser.
