Bumble debuted in 2014 and quickly gained traction. However, it is not your normal dating app, and new users may have difficulty navigating it. Your lack of familiarity with other dating apps will only work against you. Bumble is simply a dating app for women. In comparison to being on an equal footing with males in other dating apps, this means that women have a tiny advantage.

Inactive profiles are either flagged or mothballed on many other apps, and you can see when another user is online, and sometimes even when they were last online. Bumble is well-known for not mothballing profiles as soon as other apps, but does it also notify you when someone is online and using the app?
How to Know if Someone is Active on Bumble
Unfortunately, Bumble does not display a user’s current or previous online status. It’s for a good reason, though: stalkers were apparently using monitoring while people were online when it was available. We can all agree that stalking is a horrible thing. If you see a profile on Bumble, it means they’ve been active in the last 30 days.
Bumble is unlike any other dating app in a number of ways, one of which is the transparency of user activity. You won’t be able to check if a user is online on Bumble, unlike prominent social media sites like Facebook and Instagram. There is no green dot indicator or anything like that next to their name. So you made a profile, added some cool photos and a clever bio, and began swiping. You’ve been matched with a charming single man or woman, and you can’t wait to meet them. What’s the best way to tell if they’re online? There’s not much you can do about it because the software doesn’t let you observe their behavior.
Since the app does not let you see their activity, there is little you can do about it. A nice place to start would be to send them a message. Be patient; people have personal lives and things to do, so don’t expect a fast response. If they haven’t responded by the end of the day, you can message them again the next day.
However, do not send unsolicited messages to their inbox. It can be stressful to receive 15 messages from a match on a dating app. When they are ready, you will receive a response. Remember that the proper person will appear; it may simply take a long time. If you’re in a conversation with someone, they should let you know if they’ll be gone for a time.
Take a Break with Snooze Mode
Bumble invented ‘Snooze Mode’ to allow users to take a break and focus on their work, trips, or mental wellness. You will be notified when another user is in Snooze Mode, an in-app function that silences your Bumble dating or friendship activity. Showing people that you’re in Snooze Mode, according to the business, gives account owners a sense of social duty. Why, after all, would you want to take a break from the stresses of social interaction?
If a user you enjoy chatting with doesn’t respond to you, you’ll know they’re simply taking a mental break from the app (hopefully). To make this functionality available, follow these steps:
- In the lower left-hand corner of the home page, click the profile symbol.
- In the upper left-hand corner, click the settings cog.
- Select ‘Snooze Mode’ from the drop-down menu.
- From the menu, select 24 hours, 72 hours, one week, or indefinitely.
- Select one of the following options from the drop-down menu: I’m traveling, I’m focused on work, I’m on a digital detox, I’m prioritizing myself.
When you enable the snooze feature, your profile will be hidden from potential matches. Matches will be notified that you’re back online once it’s enabled. To turn off the feature, simply follow the same steps but select ‘Deactivate snooze mode.’ The snooze option’s only goal is to offer users a respite from the continual urge to communicate with others, which benefits Bumble’s mental health.
Bumble is a little different from other dating apps, but it isn’t necessarily a bad thing. Although it may be uncomfortable at times, many would argue that it is preferable to keep one’s activities hidden if at all feasible. It will be easy to avoid irritating, needy, and nasty users this way. Bumble lets individuals preserve their privacy by disguising their behavior. This means that users can keep their distance from those they don’t like while chatting freely with those they do.
