Many people have the same question in mind – “how to recover reported and block messages? If you too belong to the same group, then read on to know more about it.

How to Recover Report and Block Messages in Whatsapp

If you are an android user and you haven’t deleted the messages or the contact from the block list, you can recover blocked messages following these few simple and easy steps.

  • Tap on the “Call and Text Blocking” Option.
  • Now tap on the “History” Option.
  • A menu appears from which you have to choose the “text blocked history” option.
  • Now tap on the “blocked messages” that you want to recover or restore.
  • Next, tap on the “restore to inbox” option.

Before you start doing anything, your first duty is to check out the archived chats section. Because so many times it happens that you may have archived the chat just to keep it out of your view. Now, it is really fortunate if you have done that. You can simply remove the conversation from the archive and get them back on your main screen. Here are the steps to do so:

  • Open “WhatsApp” on your device.
  • Tap on the “Chat Tab”.
  • Now tap on the “archived chat” option that lies at the bottom of the page.
  • Now You come across a list of conversations from the archive section that shall contain the one you are looking for.
  • If so, then tap on the “chat” or “conversation” to extract it from the archive list.
  • Now tap on the “box icon” present at the top right corner of the conversation.
  • That is all and you can now view your desired conversation.

If you haven’t found what you were looking for, in the archived section then maybe you have to resort to a different process named BACKUP.

To begin with, you have to understand that there are two processes on android for restoring WhatsApp backup. The first is to use the backup that WhatsApp makes on google drive ( more precisely on the cloud). The second is to make use of the backup files that WhatsApp itself saves on the local device memory.  There is a major difference between the two. While the drive backup lets you access the recent messages only, the backup created by WhatsApp lets you restore even older messages.

If you have deleted the conversation with the blocked contact just recently, then it is possible to recover them from Google Drive backup. Here are the steps you can follow:

  • Open “WhatsApp” on your device.
  • Tap on the “chat tab” at the top left corner.
  • Now tap on the three vertical dot icons present at the top right corner and from the drop-down menu that appears select the Settings Option.
  • Now tap on the “Chat” option followed by the “Chat Backup” option.
  • Under the Last Backup Option, tap on the “Google Drive” Label.

Usually, this should work well but if it is not working, meaning the messages are not available, then maybe the backup function of Google Drive is not active. You don’t have to worry even if that is the case. Simply uninstall Whatsapp followed by reinstallation. After reinstallation, agree to the restore backup option. Now you can easily restore the messages.

Restoring messages from a local drive is a bit more complicated and involves too many steps. Therefore, choosing Google drive as the backup option is easier and better.
